Returning to work after Maternity Leave can be a daunting task for a new mum, but for Emmeline, one of our Resourcing Business Partners, the support she received from her manager and her colleagues made things a lot easier.

Navigating a return to work doesn’t stop there as it can be challenging to juggle the demands of a full-time job with the responsibilities of raising children, Emmeline shares her story.

Having worked for Bupa Dental care for 4 years; Emmeline started her career as a dental nurse and joined Bupa Dental Care as a practice manager. Since then, she has enjoyed quick career progression, being promoted to a dual practice manager, qualifying in her level 5 CIPD HR, before going off on maternity leave. On her return, she joined the recruitment team. We sat down with Emmeline as she shared with us how she has found the balance:

“Bupa Dental Care and the recruitment managers supported me in ensuring I was ready to return to work. I was aware of the expectations of both myself and the role, and Bupa allowed me to have a flexible working pattern that worked around my family and commitments. I was supported leading up to my return and continue to be now that I’m back.”

“Bupa Dental Care has always been very supportive, and I feel very valued as a working parent. Bupa makes me feel that being a parent and having a career is absolutely achievable and that they are behind me to achieve this."

We asked Emmeline how Bupa Dental Care have supported her as a working parent since she has returned to her role. She said:

“Bupa Dental Care has always been very supportive, and I feel very valued as a working parent. Bupa makes me feel that being a parent and having a career is absolutely achievable and that they are behind me to achieve this. I have been supported to develop within my roles and been given the flexibility in my working pattern to still have an amazing career whilst being parent. Bupa encourages individuals to develop regardless of their parental status, which is so warming.”

We asked Emmeline why she was attracted to working at Bupa Dental Care. She said:

“I wanted to join for several reasons, including career progression opportunities, the support and structure from a corporate within various departments, improved working hours, higher salary and benefits that I never had before.”

We then asked Emmeline what makes her smile about working at Bupa Dental Care:

“I feel everyone is treated as an individual, we are encouraged to be ourselves and be proud of who we are and our journey. Bupa Dental Care makes me smile as I look at where I started my journey, to where I am today as a parent of 2 little ones, and I am incredibly proud to work here and have the opportunities and career that I have. I’m excited about the future, and I love the passion from our team and leaders.”

Finally, we asked Emmeline to share with us what she would say to anyone considering a career with Bupa Dental Care. She said:

“Where do I start?! Bupa Dental Care is a supportive business from all aspects, there are countless opportunities for development, which are accessible to all. We have great engagement between departments, flexible working patterns and amazing benefits and rewards for all employees. I feel extremely valued in my role and Bupa Dental Care.
