We asked Rebecca to tell us a bit about her career journey so far:
“I am dual qualified as a dental hygienist and therapist. I diagnose and treat dental decay and gum disease. I place both composite (white) and amalgam (silver) fillings on adult and children’s teeth, and extract and place pre-formed crowns on deciduous (baby) teeth. I take x-rays, preform tooth whitening, and give oral hygiene advice. The main focus of my job is to prevent dental decay and gum disease by educating my patients on healthy habits.”
We asked Rebecca to tell us what made her want to become a dental hygienist and therapist. She said:
“My Mum was a dental nurse and I have always been passionate about health. I like that I get to help my patients achieve their dream smiles and give them their confidence back. I started working at Bupa straight after qualifying 5 years ago and have since returned after having a baby.”
Choosing where to work is an important decision to make, we asked Rebecca to tell us what attracted her to Bupa Dental Care, and how she has been able to progress with us. She said:
“Bupa Dental Care is well known for their high standards in patient care, whilst also looking after their staff’s health and wellbeing. Bupa encourage all staff to be the best they can be. They offer lots of free CPD, which enables me to meet my GDC requirements, but also offer extra courses that I am interested in.”

“I love my team! We are all super supportive of each other, which makes our days enjoyable and run smoothly. We are a team of bubbly, youthful, hardworking professionals who always strive to hit gold standard practice, as well as achieving our own personal goals. I am proud to be a part of such a fabulous, multi-disciplinary team, as we are able to help our local community and often receive positive feedback from our patients.”
